So you're ready to order some Paintru artwork for yourself or as the perfect gift, but you have questions about how to actually complete an order. Here's a quick and easy look at our order process so that you can be sure your final painting comes out exactly how you'd like it to look.

1. Select the Perfect Photo
Selecting a great photo is the first step in creating a Paintru masterpiece, but you don't have to be as talented as our artists to pick a world-class photo. In general, you'll want to ensure the photo is as high resolution as possible. If you have a landscape photo, any beautiful image will turn out incredibly as a painting.
For paintings of people, we recommend considering how large the individuals' faces are relative to the paintable area. We limit sizing options for artwork with multiple people so that we aren't telling an artist to fit 10 people onto a tiny canvas, but selecting a proper size and image are important steps for you to do when submitting your order. If you submit a photo of one individual who takes up only a small portion of the photo for an 8x10 canvas, the person will lack fine details in the final painting. Conversely, a close-up photo of an individual will turn out well in any size that we offer. As always, you can reach out to our team with specific questions about your photo.
2. Navigate to the Checkout Page
From the Paintru main page, click on "Custom Painting" from any page, or follow the link below
3. Select Your Medium
We get this question often and wrote an article about it here. In general, we recommend oil paints for most images, but watercolors and acrylics come out beautifully as well for certain pieces. As always, feel free to reach out to a member of our team!
4. Select Number of Individuals
By number of individuals, we mean the number of people in your photo that we will be painting. So if there are 4 people in your photo - select 4. If you have a landscape with no people, just choose landscape!
5. Select a Frame
Our framing options were temporarily suspended during COVID-19, but we are willing to work with you individually if you're open to waiting for up to 40 days. If you select "rolled" as your option, you can speak with a Paintru team member about what frames are available and purchase after you place your order.
6. Submit Your Order
